At Troup County, the daily administrative and executive functions are coordinated at the Board of Commissioners’ office located in the Troup County Government Center.
Troup County Government works under a Commission-Manager form of government. The Troup County Board of Commissioners is comprised of a chairman, who is elected in a county-wide election, and four additional commissioners, each of which are elected from a specific district; all are elected to four-year terms. The Board of Commissioners maintains the primary policy-making for the County and also oversees executive functions.
The Board of Commissioners appoints a County Manager who is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and executive functions of Troup County. The County Manager supervises policy development, records and financial management, accounts payable, employee benefits and payroll, and public information.
